Job Description

A 5-star luxury lodge is set in the heart of a premier, Big Five game reserve.They pride themselves on offering our international and local clientele the ultimate safari experience, world-class hospitality, and highly personalised service. They are looking for a passionate, guest-focused, and highly qualified Trails Guide to join the dedicated field team Present at main lodge 30min before wake up call to prepare coffee for guests Wake up call to guests and hosting guests for morning coffee Conducting morning game drive according to NWPTB regulations Following up with reception on any changes on the Day Sheet Aware of guests' dietary requirement and communicate with the kitchen regarding snacks on game drive (Lactose, gluten, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) Meeting guests on arrival, taking luggage to the rooms, parking guests' vehicles Greeting guests on departure, fetching guests' vehicles and doing luggage Hosting guests at high tea Conducting afternoon game drive according to NWPTB regulations (Code of Conduct) Removing of unwanted critters & creatures from guests room during the night Removing snakes for public areas and rooms Airstrip clearing, pick up and drop offs while following Federal Air protocol Conducting bush walks according to NWPTB regulations Communicate ETA's with lodge via Parks board radio channel Follow and ethically communicate on appropriate WhatsApp groups Ensure vehicle and equipment is in good condition at all times Ensure contents of First Aid kit is complete and not expired Ensure rifle is signed in and out of safe and clean at all times Report any faulty equipment to head guide Conducting kiddies activities for children under the age of 10 years old Assist with maintenance when needed Requirements Requirements Trails Guide (NQF2/NQF4) Viewing Potentially Dangerous Animals (VPDA) Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) Nature Site Guide (NQF4) PrDP First Aid (preferably Wilderness orientated) Department of Tourism registered NDT SAPS Firearm Competency SASSETA 117705 / 119651 / 123519 or Licence to possess a firearm CATHSETA certified Reserve - 30 20 10 and Bush Lane shooting assessments Minimum 3 Years experience required Benefits Benefits Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, with accommodation, meals, medical contribution (after 3rd month) and additional staff benefits. Commission R300 per Bush Walk with guests Accommodation, meals, uniform, & medical contribution (after 3rd month) Two complimentary drinks on game drive and two complimentary drinks when hosting bednights per year for friends or family to visit Reasonably unlimited staff village bednights for friends or family to visit 2 Complimentary bednights at any Company property for yourself & 1 person Access to use the lodge gym Free access to WiFi Staff discount for drinks and curio items Staff discount on flights between Johannesburg and the lodge
