Job Description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild, and perform maintenance on company-owned or leased heavy-duty trailers, and equipment to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance. Responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, completing repair documentation, and conducting safety inspections

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs on trailers, including wiring, brakes, wheel seals, electrical systems, ABS issues and welding as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, filter replacements, tire rotations, and minor adjustments.
  • Complete required paperwork associated with vehicle repairs, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Conduct safety inspections to identify, record, and report equipment deterioration for replacement or repair.
  • Maintain accurate, updated preventive maintenance records.
  • Assist other mechanics with repairs and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards, ensuring tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of trailer maintenance and repair experience.
  • Practical experience with trailer electrical systems and wiring; welding experience is a plus.
  • Ownership of personal tools suitable for the position.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work 40–50 hours per week, including overtime and occasional Saturdays.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and relevant state and federal regulations
