Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Trailer & Diesel Mechanic with proven experience in maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, including trucks, trailers, excavators, forklifts, loaders, and screeners. The ideal candidate will hold a Cummins certification and possess strong knowledge of Davie 4 diagnostic software. This role requires a versatile mechanic with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair both heavy-duty diesel engines and hydraulic/electrical systems across multiple types of equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, trailers, and heavy equipment (excavators, trucks, forklifts, loaders, screeners).
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of all fleet and equipment.
  • Utilize Davie 4 software and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Inspect, repair, and service fuel and brake systems, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, exhaust, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • Document repairs and maintenance accurate records of repairs and maintenance and part usage in compliance with company and DOT requirements.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide input on continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technical advancements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Cummins certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Davie 4 diagnostic software.
  • 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with trailers and mixed heavy equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment: excavators, trucks, trailers, forklifts, loaders, screeners.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • CDL (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

  • Office Environment: This position may operate in an office environment and is not expected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
