Job Description

Nau mai, haere mai ki a Fulton Hogan | Join us at Fulton Hogan

We’re looking for a TTM Working Foreperson to lead from the front and help deliver good work safely, every day. In this role, you’ll oversee temporary traffic management operations across construction and maintenance sites, keeping traffic moving, protecting our people, and looking after the public.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role with plenty of variety. You’ll support and lead your crew across a mix of projects, from roading network upgrades to larger regional works. We’re after someone who knows the industry, backs their team, and switches on when it counts. You’ll be trusted to make good calls on site, coach others, and keep standards high without the stiff corporate vibe.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise traffic management crews on site, making sure work is completed safely and in line with TMPs.

  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic management devices and systems.

  • Run regular site briefings so your team is clear on work plans, site risks, and any changes required.

  • Ensure signs, barriers, and other safety controls are installed and maintained properly.

  • Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, and push pause when something’s not right.

  • Report incidents, near misses, and equipment issues, and help drive safer, smarter ways of working.

  • Provide on-the-job coaching and guidance to traffic controllers, STMS, and other team members.

  • Step in to relieve the TTM Supervisor when needed.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Minimum Cat A/B/C required.

  • A Class 2 NZ Licence minimum.

  • A strong understanding of CoPTTM and NZGTTM.

  • 5 years minimum experience in the Traffic Management industry, ideally in roading & construction.

  • Experience leading teams and communicating clearly on site.

  • Flexibility to work day and night shifts.

  • A practical, proactive, and safety-first approach.

  • The ability to think ahead, solve problems, and bring people with you.

He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits

At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us. You’ll have access to:

  • Medical insurance and Life insurance after the eligibility period.

  • KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones, up to 7%.

  • Parental leave top‑up payment with additional return‑to‑work support.

  • Ongoing training and development, with clear career growth and progression opportunities.

  • Great discounts at a wide range of retailers.

Ko wai mātou | About us

At Fulton Hogan, good work is what we do and how we do it. We build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that keeps New Zealand moving, and we do it side by side, not top down. That means ideas matter, effort matters, and people matter. We’re serious about safety, quality, and performance, but we keep things human too. We take the work seriously, not ourselves. Here, good work means high expectations and low ego. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility, backed to speak up, and supported to grow in a team that’s flat, friendly, forward moving, and always looking for a better way.
