Wage Range: $34.87/hour or as per CBA

Status: Full-Time with benefits. This is a union position with LIUNA local 527 .

About the Position

ATS Traffic Ottawa is looking for a Lead Hand to join our team! This position will be responsible for overseeing our Installation and Repairs labourers in our On-Street Services Division.

The successful applicant will provide supervision, guidance and motivation to employees to help them reach their potential! This role is key in the mobilization of resources to ensure timely execution of daily events including freeway and non freeway traffic control, including flagging and traffic signs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate traffic control equipment repairs, support traffic control operations, and complete related administrative duties as part of the team.
• Repair BTI’s (message boards, Traffic lights, radar trailers, arrow-boards) and minor fleet vehicle repairs as necessary.
• Review and inspect work zone ensuring timely compliance with drawings, maps, plans and regulatory specifications.
• Ensure any work zone deficiencies are corrected in timely manner.
• Follow up with your crew/field crews for equipment documentation and time sheets, complete and submit daily.
• Liaise with coordinator/customer to allow seamless communication between office and field work.
• Daily Reporting of Progress.

Qualifications

• Approximately 1-5 years previous experience in a similar role Preference will be given to candidates with traffic related install and repair experience, such as guardrail, barrier guard, and signage.
• Previous supervisory and/or traffic control experience is required
• Ability to drive a one ton flat-deck truck.
• Valid Class G Driver’s License is required
• Z Class endorsement is an asset.
