We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Barnet to assist with the appointment of a Trading Standards Team Leader, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £219.05 - £288.37 per day

Summary:

Trading Standards Team Leader will be responsible to support the Service Manager in the comprehensive and legally robust delivery of the Trading Standards Service. The role will involve overseeing, coordinating and monitoring the workload of officers within the team, providing technical advice and guidance, and supporting the development of key professional and technical resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Service Manager in the effective and legally robust delivery of the Trading Standards Service.
  • Oversee, coordinate and monitor the workload of officers within the team.
  • Provide technical advice, professional guidance and support to officers.
  • Develop and maintain key professional and technical resources for the service.
  • Manage an individual caseload and take the lead on cases requiring enforcement.
  • Handle complex and high-priority cases, ensuring appropriate action is taken.

Qualification:

  • Relevant professional qualification or substantial professional experience in Trading Standards.
  • Appropriate knowledge and understanding of Trading Standards legislation and enforcement procedures.

Essentials:

  • Significant experience working within a Trading Standards environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Trading Standards legislation and statutory enforcement powers.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and progressing complex enforcement cases.
  • Experience providing technical advice, guidance and support to other officers.
  • Ability to assess cases, determine appropriate action and prioritise workload effectively.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
