Job Description

As a Vice President within JPMorgan Chase Market Operations, you will lead post-trade operating discipline across Fixed Income and Equities. You will own critical control and client outcomes spanning clearance and balancing, trade matching, reconciliation, settlement, and break management. Working closely with Trading, Product, Technology, Risk, and Operations partners, you will identify systemic issues, establish remediation priorities, and drive sustainable process and technology improvements.

As a senior leader within Market Operations, you will oversee end-to-end trade lifecycle controls, implement strategic automation initiatives, leverage data-driven insights to improve decision-making, and ensure a scalable operating model that supports evolving business needs and increasing transaction volumes. You will also provide leadership through coaching, stakeholder engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and strong risk management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end oversight of Purchase and Sales operations, including clearance and balancing, trade matching, settlement, reconciliation, and break management.
  • Oversee daily controls, exception governance, and timely escalation of material operational risks and issues.
  • Drive root-cause analysis across breaks, rejects, unmatched transactions, and processing exceptions, implementing sustainable solutions that reduce recurrence.
  • Partner with Trading, Technology, Product, Risk, and Operations stakeholders to support new business initiatives, evolving trade flows, and process enhancements.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service-level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics to assess performance and drive accountability.
  • Lead strategic automation and process improvement initiatives through requirements gathering, prioritization, testing, implementation, and benefit realization.
  • Utilize data analysis to identify trends, quantify operational impacts, support risk management, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Strengthen the operational control environment through effective governance, issue management, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and workflow oversight while developing talent and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and stakeholders, clearly communicating operational performance, risks, and strategic recommendations.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in Purchase and Sales Operations, Securities Operations, Trading Services, or a related post-trade operations function.
  • Demonstrated expertise in trade lifecycle processing, including clearance and balancing, trade matching, settlement, reconciliation, and exception management.
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity products, securities operations, market practices, and operational controls.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional investigations and remediation efforts across Operations, Trading, Technology, Product, Risk, and other business partners.
  • Strong operational risk and controls mindset, including experience with issue management, control effectiveness, audit readiness, and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing automation technologies to improve operational efficiency, control effectiveness, and service delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to identify trends, assess impacts, and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive organizational and operational change.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience delivering large-scale automation, workflow transformation, exception management, or straight-through processing (STP) initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Equity and Fixed Income securities operations across the full trade lifecycle.
  • Experience leveraging advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities to enhance operational decision-making and process efficiency.
  • Strong digital literacy and ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for AI and automation integration within operational workflows, including experience evaluating, implementing, or governing AI-driven solutions to achieve scalable process improvements and strategic objectives.
