Personnel Area: Public Transport Services

Branch: Engineering and Asset Management

Salary Range: $49.75 per hour incl 14% super (TRDC8 - AU $1,655 per week + Super) + OT + Benefits (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Permanent Full-time - 38-hour week, nine-day fortnights - Day & Afternoon shifts

Location: Willawong Bus Garage with other positions available at all locations

The Role

Our Bus Garages are staffed 365 days a year with staff working a nine-day fortnight on a Monday – Friday roster and the ability to do additional paid overtime (before or after rostered hours) and optional weekend work. Our Bus mechanics enjoy a safe, supportive environment with the potential to earn over $130k/year, with overtime.

  • perform scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs on a variety of our buses
  • fault finding, diagnosing and repairing problems as required
  • maintain, test and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems and hydraulic systems
  • repair tasks such as parts replacement, rebuilding, and adjustments to keep our fleet operating at optimum levels.

To be successful you will have

  • hold a trade certificate Level III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology
  • hold a C class licence
  • ability to diagnose & fault find mechanical and electrical problems
  • ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.

You will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role.
