The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist to help maintain, repair, and improve our state-owned and managed buildings.
You’ll work on a wide range of projects including plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repairs, welding, fabrication, and more, to keep Oregon’s government facilities operating safely and efficiently. Every day brings new challenges and a chance to make a visible impact.
What You’ll Do
Perform skilled repairs and preventative maintenance on building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, carpentry, roofing, flooring, masonry, and mechanical systems.
Fabrication of parts, fixtures from metal, wood, or other materials.
Maintain and test fire and life safety systems
Work in diverse environments—historic mansions, modern offices, labs, and more.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of: a) general building maintenance; b) carpentry; c) electrical; d) mechanical; e) painting; or f) plastering experience.
A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience. Be sure a copy of your journeyman's license/card is attached to your application form.
Special Qualifications:
Employee is required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides.
Desired Attributes:
Experience operating forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts safely and efficiently.
Proven ability to independently prioritize and organize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines while staying adaptable to changing needs.
Expertise in delivering high-quality work that ensures accuracy and completeness.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional customer service abilities, with a track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
Skilled in performing general maintenance and repairs in commercial buildings, including flush valves, pumps, roll-up doors, and door closures.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both collaborative team environments and independently with minimal supervision.
Intermediate computer skills with MS Programs (Word, Outlook, etc.)

*The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
