Ready to take the next step in your trades career? Join Citycare Property as a Trades Supervisor and lead a skilled team delivering essential maintenance services across Christchurch. This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with leadership, while making a visible impact on the facilities and spaces people use every day.
In this role, you will support and guide a team of carpenters, plumbers, handypersons and trade assistants, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will work closely with the FM Contracts Manager, wider operational teams, clients and subcontractors to coordinate day-to-day work, support job delivery and help achieve strong contract outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga
• Lead, support and motivate a team of trade employees and subcontractors.
• Coordinate day-to-day facilities maintenance work across Christchurch.
• Plan jobs, resources and staffing to meet client and contract requirements.
• Provide technical support and practical guidance to the team.
• Monitor job progress, quality, health and safety, timelines and costs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, internal teams and subcontractors.
• Support quoting, materials, work orders and job documentation.
• Champion a safe, collaborative and customer-focused team culture.
What You’ll Bring to the Table | Ngā Mea ka Mauria e Ko:
• A relevant trade qualification in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, maintenance or a related trade.
• Experience in facilities management, contracting, construction or maintenance.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, support and motivate others.
• Sound knowledge of health and safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and job management systems.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver licence.
• Legal right to work in Aotearoa, ability to pass a drug and alcohol test and willingness to consent to a Criminal Record Check.
