Independently performs general maintenance tasks and/or planning, managerial, and supervisory duties, as assigned, related to repairs, maintenance, and construction. Assists Campus Facilities Directors with repair, maintenance, and construction activities. Performs and directs activities related to repair, maintenance, and construction involving one or more trades, including carpentry, electrical work, welding, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, boiler operation, and energy plant operations. Maintains records, prepares reports regarding work activities, and makes recommendations for the repair, replacement, and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Duties may range from simple to complex.
A high school diploma and trade experience directly related to the area of employment are required. Candidates must have a strong background in HVAC, controls, electronics, and electrical fields.
An associate degree and two (2) years of directly related work experience are preferred or four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted. Supervisory experience and a Journeyman Mechanical license are preferred.
