Job Summary:

Assists with general workshop activities while completing on the job training and Cummins-based training

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Assist with cleaning, inspections, disassembly, and basic workshop tasks.
  • Follow documented procedures and Standard Repair Times (SRTs) to complete basic repairs and maintenance.
  • Complete work orders, service documentation, and timesheets accurately.
  • Enter required information into business systems and forms.
  • Complete training aligned with skill development and business needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are clean and operating correctly.
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Report safety issues, incidents, and hazards to the supervisor promptly.

We are looking for a talented Trades Assistant with any mechanical work experience to join our Wetherill Park branch.

  • Competitive hourly rates and annual bonus potential

  • Great location Wetherill Park (Western suburbs of Sydney)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Play a supportive role in the high-quality rebuilding and repairing of Cummins engines, including High Horsepower Diesel Engines
  • This role will support the Rail/Rebuild team working on medium duty, high horse power and auxiliary power support units.
  • Get a chance to work on the engines of Sydney Trains diesel fleet and do planned and reactive maintenance works.
  • Work as part of a highly skilled team delivering rebuilt engines using multiple types of equipment
  • Learn new skills, through on-the-job training
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents
  • Complete required documentation, such as Safety Check Sheets, Process Quality Checks, Daily Time Sheets

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Any related mechanical work experience
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Attention to detail
  • Great time management, process driven and ability to prioritise
  • Team player with initiative and aptitude for learning
