Job Title: Racing Trader

Can you use your analytical prowess to help us predict the unpredictable? Our Trading Team is always thinking one step ahead, whether that’s making decisions in the moment during big sporting events or using our combined insights to create innovative data-driven solutions for our customers.

Role Overview

The Racing Trader will be responsible for accurately trading horse racing prices in a manner that aligns with individual brand strategies and propositions while ensuring competitiveness is maintained. This role involves contributing to the pricing and strategic development of customer propositions, using data to inform pricing strategies and risk management decisions, and mentoring less experienced team members.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Diverse Technical Skillset: Possess a varied skillset in horse racing trading, compilation, and propositions and the ability to seamlessly transition between different tasks, shifts, and responsibilities within the racing team.
• Pricing Accuracy Accurately trade our horse racing prices in a manner that aligns with individual brand strategies and propositions while ensuring competitiveness is maintained.
• Customer Proposition Contribute to both the pricing and strategic development of the propositions offered to customers.
• Data- Driven Decisions Use data to inform and review pricing strategies and risk management decisions.
• Reporting Analyse and report on trading performance, interpreting data to make actionable recommendations for the wider team to drive improvement.
• Collaboration Work closely with various departments and brands within the business to understand the impact of initiatives and determine the next best actions.
• Ways of Working Contribute to the development of effective working practices within the racing department, fostering a desired culture.
• Compliance Ensure all trading activity complies with Flutter Entertainment’s regulatory and responsible gambling policies.
• Presentations Be comfortable presenting to stakeholders, both within the racing team and outside.
• Innovation Bring new ideas to the table regarding trading practices, with the ability to influence performance by implementing change.
• Strategic Initiatives Be known outside of racing and seen as someone who can contribute to strategic initiatives at the department level.

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required

• Analytical Enjoys working with data, capable of identifying trends in large datasets to understand both what is happening and why.
• Strategic Thinker Passionate about commercial performance, with a keen interest and determination to analyse data, provide insightful recommendations, and implement changes that positively impact racing's commercial success.

The team is based across two locations, Dublin and Leeds, with the teams working closely together in a high-paced environment. We pride ourselves on being able to understand our customers and give them the best experience possible on a day-to-day basis. Racing is an always-on sport, and to reflect the priorities in the Racing calendar, you will be expected to adapt accordingly.
