Trader - Carbohydrate Solutions - Decatur, IL

The Trader roll is to assist in managing the corn hedgedesk and to support risk management for Carbs Solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily order flow and liaise with internal/external stakeholders
  • Learn the appropriate use of futures, future spreads, options and internal flows to manage the hedge desk
  • Enter customer orders and contracts into internal systems for the Sweeteners and Starch (S&S) business
  • Provide pricing quotations to S&S toll customer and internal stakeholders for product quotation
  • Develop the skills to become a subject matter expert for a specified commodity
  • Interact with customers to discuss commodity price activity
  • Participate in discussions on trade flows and supply-demand
  • Contribute to management discussions on risk

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting) supplemented with a minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in the marketing/trading of commodities.
  • +-5 years’ experience, including experience with cash commodity trade and Oakweb.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment.
  • Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers. Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$110,100.00 - $205,200.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
