Job Description

Bring your expertise to a Trading Services team supporting foreign exchange trading activity and operational excellence.
You’ll work across trading, sales, and operations partners to help ensure trades, controls, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
This role offers broad exposure to trading products and end-to-end trade support, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and strategic initiatives.

As a Trading Services Professional on the Sydney Foreign Exchange Middle Office team, you will support electronic trading activity and the foreign exchange voice sales desk by ensuring trades and orders are accurately captured, amended, and controlled.
You will monitor and manage foreign exchange exposure in line with desk expectations and complete intraday and end-of-day checks to maintain book integrity.
You will partner closely with operations and infrastructure teams to resolve queries and help deliver a strong control environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Capture transactions in risk management systems accurately and within required timelines.
  • Amend and maintain deals and orders to ensure accurate representation of trading activity.
  • Monitor and manage foreign exchange exposure to align with desk expectations.
  • Perform intraday and end-of-day completeness and reconciliation checks to support accurate processing and book management.
  • Execute control checks diligently, including timely completion and sign-off.
  • Coordinate with operations and infrastructure partners to support efficient issue resolution and a “one team” operating model.
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders to ensure timely responses to trade, booking, and control queries.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across processes and business architecture.
  • Build and maintain working knowledge of foreign exchange products and trading structures from financial and operational perspectives.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of foreign exchange fundamentals and risk concepts relevant to trade support.
  • Knowledge of front-to-back trade lifecycle processes, including confirmations and settlements.
  • Ability to complete reconciliations and control checks with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to support collaborative problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to support exposure monitoring and issue investigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze data and support daily processes.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of derivatives and hedging products (for example, interest rate swaps and bonds).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience contributing to process improvement or project work.
  • Working knowledge of VBA, Python, or Alteryx.
