What You’ll Do
Own the Numbers Behind Our Trade Spend
You’ll play a key role in ensuring our promotional investments are accurate, aligned, and well-managed.
- Review and validate customer trade claims against approved promotions and agreements
- Ensure trade accruals are accurate and reflect actual activity
- Partner with Sales and brokers to review, approve, or challenge deductions
- Maintain accurate accounting records and support timely collections through aging reviews
Investigate & Resolve Deductions
You’ll bring clarity to discrepancies and help us recover value where it matters.
- Research deductions related to pricing, shortages, returns, damages, and compliance programs
- Identify invalid or duplicate claims and prepare supporting documentation to dispute them
- Work through resolutions efficiently and ensure accurate system update
Collaborate Across Teams
This role connects multiple parts of the business, you’ll work cross-functionally to solve issues and prevent them from recurring.
- Partner with Sales to confirm promotional execution and funding
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Supply Chain to investigate delivery, freight, and fulfillment issues
- Communicate with customers, distributors, and brokers to gather information and close out discrepancies
Turn Insights Into Action
Beyond day-to-day execution, you’ll help improve how we operate.
- Track and report on trade spend, deductions aging, and recovery rates
- Identify trends and root causes across customers and deduction types
- Recommend process or pricing improvements to reduce future deductions
- Support month-end close activities and audit requirements
What You Bring:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in trade spend, deductions, or accounts receivable; ideally within CPG
- Strong understanding of promotional allowances, pricing agreements, and customer billbacks
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data reconciliation)
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with major grocery, mass, or club retailers
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, IFS, or similar)
- Exposure to trade promotion or deduction management tools
Notes:
- This role will report into our Director Tax & Treasury and be based out of our Richmond office
- Base salary will range between $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience + a 10% bonus
