Vitol’s Middle Office function couples a dynamic and challenging work environment with a team eager for growth, learning, and career development. The Middle Office is comprised of distinct and critical roles that support Economic, Operational, Legal and Regulatory health of our Commercial activities. The position offers the analyst the opportunity to work in an area of the organization that blends core business processes as well as the utilization and implementation of advanced technical tools and applications.

As a Trade Settlements Analyst, you will develop an in-depth knowledge of how Vitol operates its businesses, along with valuable experience and skills related to the complete trade life-cycle, encompassing the people, processes, and systems. This role serves as a strong foundation for future advancement and opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Responsible for the daily invoicing of trades and processing the entry of product and ancillary trade-related invoices in Vista
  • Working directly with the Traders, Operators/Schedulers, and Commercial Analysts with regards to tracking and maintaining accuracy and completeness of trades in Vista (trade processing system)
  • Interacting with various MIS teams to design and implement optimized workflows utilizing Python
  • Coordinating with global Data Science team in the implementation and application of artificial intelligence within various business processes
  • Invoice to cost budget reconciliations to ensure accurate capture of PnL
  • Preparation of approved invoices for payment and coordinating with Treasury for accurate cash forecasting
  • Timely and accurate settlement including the invoicing of sales, purchases, transportation and various ad hoc costs
  • Reconciliation and rolling of monthly storages for accurate inventory reporting
  • Building relationships with counterparties to facilitate settlement
  • Budget and cost review, and reconciliation of all open items
  • Problem solve and explain month end anomalies from Vista for/with accounting
  • Assist with the correct support documentation for physical movements
  • Other projects as assigned – includes working on assignments from front office / Commercial team

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in with a focus in Business, Engineering or other related fields
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Python coding

  • Multi-lingual (Spanish / Portuguese) viewed as a positive
