What You’ll Be Doing

Ready to take ownership of a high-potential territory and build strong relationships across the Wellington trade market?

We're looking for a motivated Trade Sales Representative to manage an established customer portfolio while driving new business growth across the Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Wairarapa regions. This is a customer-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, building relationships and identifying new opportunities.

You will manage a portfolio of clients with your key focus to be growing and maintaining the existing Dulux customer base. Primarily you will be responsible for our Trade Painters through multiple sectors within construction, however there will be opportunity for you to grow your customer base with out of the box thinking. Much of your day can be spent out in the field, but this is a highly autonomous role, so professionalism & a high level of communication are skills you possess.

The Dulux Trade Sales Teams are passionate about being consumer driven and customer focused. We ask, listen, learn and act to help our customers win.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with builders, top-tier painters, and key market influencers
  • Collaborate with internal networks and stakeholders to maximize market impact
  • Own pricing strategy in a competitive, customer-driven environment
  • Leverage CRM and data insights to guide team performance
  • Drive specification success through strategic collaboration and project targeting

What we're looking for

You'll be a relationship-focused sales professional with a proactive, hunter mindset and a genuine passion for customer engagement.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Sales, account management or business development experience
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Confidence engaging a wide range of customers and stakeholders
  • A self-motivated and results-driven approach
  • Experience within building products, construction, trade supplies or a related industry (highly regarded)
  • The ability to identify opportunities and convert them into lasting business relationships
