The Manager for Trade Non-Energy is responsible for planning, managing, leading and control the operations and functions of the Natural Resources Mineral commodities specifically related to Steel Making Raw Materials, Non-Ferrous concentrates and Metals, Fertilizers, and Industrial Minerals, as well as to meet business objectives and to ensure compliance to the Company policies and business guidelines.
Business unit handles sampling and analysis, weight control, visual inspection, loading and Supervision of bulk cargoes loaded / discharged from ocean going vessels and or shipping containers, Business unit also provides warehouse due diligence inspections, stock audit / inspections.
To plan, organize, lead, and control the Business Operations at all major South African ports and inland locations.
Manage and monitor operational performance.
Responsible for revenue and expense control of the operations, in line with operational budgets and the business strategies.
Set annual budget targets in collaboration with the Business Manager.
Responsible for pricing policies in conjunction with the Business Manager.
Ensure that adequate and appropriate manpower resources, equipment and tools are available for total operational efficiency.
Effectively manage and continuously improve the quality management system, and the implementation of any certifications and accreditation systems within the business lines.
Control accounts receivable and DSO.
Ensure liaison and technical support to all present and potential clients.
Attend to all complaints and claim resolution.
Attend to technical and sales support as well as proposal co-ordination.
Keep abreast of new trends, current developments and relevant research.
Attend all meetings as per client requirements.
Conduct relevant monthly meetings with management and support staff.
Conduct monthly service level agreement performance meetings, with all business units, as well as with clients.
Quarterly client satisfaction surveys to be done with all stake holders.
Responsible for service level – Quality towards Business Managers and MD’s.
Ensure that all departments implement quality measures for ISO9001and ISO17020, and that accreditation and certification is obtained and maintained.
Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system
Education
Minimum Matric
National Diploma/Degree in Quality Management and/or Chemical Engineering
Experience
5 years proven experience in the sector or within the company in the functions, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning.
Skills
Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)
Computer Literacy in word and excel.
Working Knowledge of ISO 17025Work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication and interpersonal skills
