This role is a Trade Marketing Leader for a Japanese business and a position that is part of the Marketing Leadership team in Japan whilst being a solid link to commercial leadership. The role will own the planning and implementation of all On and Off trade annual strategies and work closely with customers to ensure all annual activations are aligned with the brand marketing strategy. As a Marketing Leader in the Japanese business, the role will come with an opportunity to manage, coach and develop three team members whilst influencing the wider Japan, Asia and Global BF business.
Job Responsibilities:
Trade Marketing Leadership & Team Development
● Coordinate and oversee the work of Trade Marketing team members
● Development, mentor and build a strong talent pipeline
Strategic Planning
● Contribute to brand, channel and customer strategies.
● Lead with the Sales Team turning the “selling stories” into sales tools to effectively present brands, products and the marketing initiatives to their customers
● Oversee preparation and execution of 12M Activity Calendar for all Off-Trade channels covering key selling periods identified in Brand Plans to maximize effectiveness
Brand Activation
● Coordinate preparation of cross channel Trade Marketing activations in line with brands, channel and customer strategies
● Oversee execution of key marketing platforms/initiatives
● Promotional activities recommendation and evaluation per channel/client
● Ensure proper execution of promo guidelines delivered by marketing team
POSM & Gift Pack Management
● Partner with the Global POSM agency HH Global
● Management of development and distribution of POSM materials for brand platforms based on the communication guidelines delivered by BM
● Management and development of merchandising standards for all POSM
● Management and development of Tailor-Made actions in cooperation with Brand Marketing and Sales Team
● Ensure proper execution of promo guidelines delivered by marketing team
Measurment & KPIs
● Track and report progress on listings and distribution building activities for all products
● Track and report issues with recommended prices and execution of pricing strategy
● Intermediary evaluations of promotions using sell-in, sell-out data and qualitative feedback from colleagues
● Drive deep shopper understanding as a base for all decisions made
● Regular market visits monitor BF and competitors’ activities in-store
Budget Management
● Budget management of related spending to keep them within approved budget frames
● Represent Trade Marketing function throughout S&BP process and whenever any ad-hoc reporting is required
● Look for opportunities to optimize cost of POS purchase and logistics
Required Experience & Education:
Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);
Experience: ● University graduated
● 8+ years working experience in sales related industry – at least 2 years working experience in eCommerce related field; Spirit industry background is strongly preferred
● Fluent Japanese and English speaking and writing
● Very good analytical skills
● Time management and organizational skills
● Strong communication skills (influencing, listening, presentations, written)
● MS Office applications
● IT literate
