Job Description

The Trade Marketing Manager plays a crucial role in maximizing product visibility, strengthening brand awareness, and driving sales within the trade channel. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans that align with business objectives while fostering strong collaboration with sales teams, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.

Job Roles & Key Responsibilities: (This is not an exhaustive list)

A. Trade Marketing

1. Digital Assets

  • Manage the distribution of digital assets to retailers and
  • Customise images according to client specifications, including barcodes and product
  • Brief the design team on digital assets such as banners, mailers, and social media
  • Collaborate with design and copy teams for asset
  • Ensure timely activation of digital content, meeting deadlines and keeping Key Account Managers (KAMs) informed.
  • Provide pack shots, lifestyle images, and videos to retailers and
  • Coordinate the arrangement of open files for
  • Support queries in a timely
  • Brief copy updates and obtain necessary
  • Meet deadlines through the submission of campaign briefs for individual marketing campaigns requested by KAMs.

2. Trade Activity

  • Plan, execute and ensure all trade activities such as Gift With Purchase (GWP) programs, hampers, and limited edition Value Added Packs (VAPs) are in trade timeously
  • Obtain quotes and invoices, and liaise with the Finance
  • Ensure timely delivery of trade promotional items to stores and
  • Manage quotes, invoices, and new vendor applications in collaboration with
  • Approve samples and testers from the brand and ensure timely delivery to trade
  • Trade and buyer samples to be distributed where possible 8-10 weeks prior to launch
  • Provide monthly updates on competitor activities across beauty
  • Maintain and update price index sheets
  • Present monthly trade marketing activities at S&OP Meetings

3. Point of Sale (POS) & Signage

  • Build relationships with relevant agencies, including WUF, printers, photographers, designers, and suppliers.
  • Source and onboard new suppliers, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Develop concepts and design briefs for trade
  • Approve samples and testers, ensuring timely
  • Manage quotes and invoices with accounts and
  • Measure necessary shelf and POS dimensions across
  • Brief printing of all POS materials, including flyers and
  • Ensure brand sign-off on all
  • Oversee the distribution of POS materials to stores before product
  • Communicate standard planograms and shelf designs to relevant departments and agencies
  • Ensure all signage reaches stores and representatives before campaign
  • Maintain SKOON. merchandise in an organized and secure

4. Representatives & Promoters

  • Organize and pack all the required promotional
  • Oversee the design, production, and distribution of promoter tables/stations.
  • Manage uniforms, onboarding packs, and badges.
  • Provide digital assets to representatives for client sharing.
  • Communicate store layouts and planograms to representatives.
  • Ensure timely printing and distribution of promotional signage such as tent cards and

5. In-Store Activations & Events

  • Develop activation concepts and design briefs, ensuring all deadlines are
  • Manage full setups for all
  • Assist with end-to-end planning of activations, ensuring strong marketing and stakeholder
  • Ensure budget compliance and timely execution.
  • Conduct monthly in-store visits to assess brand consistency across malls and
  • Analyze top-performing malls and identify new activation

6. Trade Presenters

  • Ensure accurate and complete trade presenter information reaches the design
  • Oversee the concept, design, and finalization process in collaboration with relevant
  • Provide necessary barcodes, SKUs, and descriptions to the design
  • Obtain brand approval and attend stakeholder meetings to gather and disseminate key
  • Verify pricing accuracy on all trade
  • Submit final trade presenters 8–10 weeks prior to launch for trade sell-in and listing

7. Budget Management

  • Manage and optimize the allocated trade marketing budget effectively.

8. Pricing Management

  • Maintain and update all pricing
  • Ensure pricing accuracy across all trade collateral and trade

9. Competitor Activity

  • Research and feedback on competitor landscape
  • Present monthly competitor activities at S&OP Meetings
  • Maintain and update price index sheets monthly and present at our monthly S&OP meetings

10. Budget Management

  • Effectively manage the allocated Trade Marketing

B. Administration & Reporting

  • Support with Ad hoc reporting requests from the National Commercial
  • Share monthly Door Ranking for all trade partners
  • Capture and share accurate monthly sell-in and sell-through data for all Trade partners and agencies
  • Collate and share monthly sell through data for all Trade partners to be uploaded into the sales target sheet
  • Assist with ad hoc target sheets requests as and when required by the National Commercial Manager
