Trade Finance Solutions Operations Expert

Location: Geneva, Switzerland | Barcelona, Barcelona | Singapore | Dubai, UAE

As our Trade Finance Solutions (TFS) business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Trade Finance Solutions Operations Expert to join our team. Acting as a key control layer between commercial teams, banking partners, and operational execution, you will help ensure that complex Trade Finance transactions are appropriately structured, documented, risk-assessed, and executed in line with internal policies and international Trade Finance standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commodity Trade Finance Operations professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, influencing critical business decisions, being closed to the execution of the Trade Finance instruments and working at the intersection of banking, risk management, and global trade.

What You'll Be Doing

As a subject matter expert within the Trade Finance Solutions team, you will provide oversight, risk control, and advisory support for complex Commodity Trade Finance transactions.

Working closely with Commercial, Treasury, Legal, Accounting, Operations, and international banking partners, you will help ensure transactions are structured correctly, risks are understood and mitigated, and controls are maintained throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing, structuring, and validating Structured Letters of Credit and Trade Finance documentation.
• Providing expert advice on transaction structures, Letter of credit wording, risk mitigation, and compliance requirements.
• Assessing and approving complex and non-standard transactions, including multi-bank and cross-border financing structures.
• Acting as a key control layer between commercial structuring and operational execution.
• Supporting and guiding global execution teams on complex transactions, exceptions, and best practices.
• Collaborating with banks, clients, and internal stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Monitoring transaction accuracy, financial flows, and operational controls by ensuring timely, precise and efficient execution.
• Driving operational excellence through strong governance, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional Trade Finance Operations role.

The team serves as Bunge's center of expertise for complex and Structured Trade Finance transactions. While standardized operational activities are performed by global execution teams, your focus will be on transaction oversight, risk assessment, decision-making, advisory support, and control effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced Trade Finance professional who combines deep technical expertise with commercial awareness, sound judgment, and a strong control mindset.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Trade Finance within a bank, commodity trading company, or international trade environment.
• Experience in Commodity Trade Finance.
• Expertise in Letters of Credit, Stand-by LC and guarantees
• Deep knowledge in ICC rules and their application (UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98, URC 522, Incoterms)
• Experience reviewing and validating complex banking and Trade Finance documentation.
• Strong analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across locations, functions, and cultures.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or training colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Structured Trade Finance or Transactional Financing products.
• Receivables financing, collateral management, or loan administration.
• SAP knowledge.
• Additional languages such as French or Spanish.
