Job Description

Bank of Jordan, a leading financial institution in Jordan, is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Trade Finance Sales Unit Head to oversee and manage the bank's trade finance sales. As the Trade Finance Sales Unit Head, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring efficient and effective execution of trade finance services, and managing a team of trade finance sales professionals.

As the Trade Finance Sales Unit Head, you will play a vital role in supporting trade finance activities, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and contributing to the growth and success of the bank's trade finance business.

Job Duties:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the trade finance unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and manage trade finance operations, including import and export financing, documentary credits, bank guarantees, trade-related collections, and other trade finance products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade finance regulations, industry best practices, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage client relationships and work closely with internal stakeholders to understand and fulfill customer trade finance needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Relationship Managers, Risk Management, Legal, and Operations, to facilitate smooth trade finance transactions and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes related to trade finance, and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of trade finance professionals, providing training, guidance, and support to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of trade finance activities, performance metrics, and risk assessment to senior management.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and automation to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification in trade finance is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in trade finance operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within a banking or financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance products, instruments, and related regulations, including UCP 600, ISBP, URC 522, and Incoterms.
  • Familiarity with international trade practices, trade documentation, and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing trade finance operations, including import and export financing, documentary credits, and trade-related collections.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop a team.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in trade finance-related software and office applications.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
