How you will make an impact
Cabrini Health has vacancies available for experienced hospitality trained Cooks to support our Food Preparation team on a Casual basis. The Trade Cook will work within an experienced and supportive team in our large kitchen preparing quality food for our patients and for functions.
The role requires some work on weekends, public holidays, Christmas and the New Year period, as rostered. This is a great role to develop your skills, expand your career and have true lifestyle balance with flexible casual shifts. Shifts are available between Mon-Sun with earliest shifts commencing at 5:30AM and latest shifts concluding at 8:00PM.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing bulk high quality and nutritionally balanced food and beverages efficiently and according to requirements
Assisting with the general operation of the kitchen
Stock control management and ordering
Quality control and meeting food safety (HACCP) requirements
Liaising with healthcare professionals in regard to patient dietary needs
What we're looking for:
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Recent experience in a commercial or bulk cooking environment, preferably health or aged care
A positive attitude and professional manner with the ability to work well under pressure
Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
Excellent organisational skills and are reliable and flexible

Cabrini is owned and operated by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who came to Australia in 1948 to take over the management of a 45-bed community hospital named St Benedict’s. Cabrini now has more than 800 beds and a comprehensive range of health services. There are acute facilities at Malvern and Brighton.
