Line Manager: Sanctions Business Process Director

Trade Compliance GTS Specialist

As a Trade Compliance GTS Specialist, you'll help assess sanctions, export controls, and restricted transactions while supporting the rollout of automated compliance controls through SAP GTS. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside global subject matter experts and contribute to a high-impact initiative that strengthens JTI's global trade compliance capabilities.

What will you do?

• Review transactions blocked within SAP GTS and determine the root cause, required actions, and whether transactions can be released in line with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Support sanctions screening, export control reviews, trade compliance assessments, and classification activities related to international trade transactions.
• Analyze transactions involving materials, customers, suppliers, countries, and financial institutions to ensure compliance with sanctions, embargoes, export controls, and licensing requirements.
• Maintain and update SAP GTS system settings, compliance content, licenses, and regulatory data in alignment with global trade compliance requirements.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of automated trade compliance controls within SAP GTS.
• Perform master data maintenance, transaction screening reviews, and compliance-related system activities.
• Apply trade compliance expertise to assess export control classifications, including ECCN, EU Dual Use, and other controlled goods classifications.
• Provide operational support and guidance to business stakeholders on trade compliance processes, sanctions-related topics, and SAP GTS transactions.
• Investigate complex or high-risk cases and escalate them appropriately to senior compliance experts.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, investigations, and remediation activities through accurate documentation and system records.
• Collaborate with global Legal & Regulatory Affairs stakeholders, compliance experts, and business teams to ensure effective implementation of trade compliance controls.

Who are we looking for?

• University degree in Business, Economics, Law, Logistics, Engineering, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience supporting international trade compliance, export controls, sanctions programs, customs classification, licensing, or related compliance activities.
• Hands-on experience interpreting and applying trade compliance regulations within daily operations.
• Knowledge of sanctions screening, export controls, restricted party screening, licensing requirements, ECCN classifications, EU Dual Use regulations, or similar trade compliance frameworks.
• Experience reviewing, assessing, and resolving compliance-related transactions or regulatory exceptions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret regulations and make sound compliance recommendations.
• Experience working with multinational organizations, manufacturing environments, or complex cross-functional operations is highly preferred.
• Experience using SAP GTS or other Global Trade Management systems.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
