Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Trade Administration Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets Operations, Trade Support, Clearing, and Settlements to support the daily processing and oversight of Canadian and U.S. equity trade clearing activities. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, settlement, regulatory, and downstream support teams to ensure trades are accurately matched, reconciled, and positioned for timely settlement while minimizing operational and settlement risk.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented operations professional who thrives in a fast-paced capital markets environment and is comfortable managing trade lifecycle processes, investigating exceptions, resolving breaks, and supporting operational controls within established regulatory and audit frameworks.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
Contract Length: 12 Months (Extension or FTE Conversion Possible)
Hours: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM EST


Pay: T4: 43.50/ hour IC: 50/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process and oversee Canadian and U.S. equity trade clearing activities to ensure accurate and timely settlement.
  • Perform daily reconciliations, investigate trade breaks, and resolve discrepancies within operational deadlines and control standards.
  • Research non-routine settlement exceptions, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk exposure.
  • Escalate unresolved issues, settlement risks, and time-sensitive exceptions to senior operations staff and management in accordance with established procedures.
  • Partner with internal operations teams, business stakeholders, and downstream support groups to ensure timely completion of trade lifecycle activities.
  • Maintain accurate audit trails and ensure all work is completed in compliance with operational policies, procedures, and authority levels.
  • Support operational reporting, productivity tracking, and service delivery metrics to enhance team effectiveness and process transparency.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including planning, testing, implementation, and operational support for revised procedures and workflows.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members and assist with escalations when required.
  • Support additional operational functions including account transfers, cancel/correct processing, tax reconciliations, step-outs, and STEP trade upload monitoring.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of experience in Capital Markets Operations, Trade Administration, Clearing, Settlements, or Trade Support within Canadian and/or U.S. markets.
  • Hands-on experience supporting equity trade lifecycle activities including matching, clearing, settlement, reconciliations, and exception management.
  • Experience working with Canadian BPS, Broadridge, or related capital markets operational platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve operational breaks and settlement exceptions.
  • Working knowledge of operational risk controls, audit requirements, and regulatory considerations within a capital markets environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, and Excel; advanced Excel skills are considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations and business teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute effectively in a deadline-driven, high-volume operational environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with systems and platforms such as BPS/ADP, GEMS, IMatch, Global Framework, DTC, OCC, Arrow, and CDS portals.
  • Experience supporting operational process improvements, workflow optimization, or trade operations testing initiatives.
  • Exposure to settlement reconciliations, regulatory support functions, or operational metrics reporting.
  • Previous experience within large financial institutions or capital markets environments.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
