Sign on Bonus Available

This position will round out our team of tractor trailer drivers responsible for movement and coordination of intercompany loads to support our main plant in Portland as well as our support locations in Scarborough, Waterville, Hermon and Hooksett, NH. All schedules and routing is coordinated by our local management team and they work hard to develop and accommodate schedules for our team members. Oakhurst (a subsidiary of Dairy Farmers of America) a farmer owned company has one of the strongest full compensation packages in southern Maine for home-based regional trucking. Our paid time off policies and bonus structure is unmatched.

We have on-boarded a number of recent commercial driving (CDL) school graduates successfully and have built a very strong and collaborative team of drivers that work together to get the job done. Here are some of the benefits related to this opportunity:

  • All shifts are based upon a 4-day work week with a 4-week rotation that includes two back-to-back days off as well as every Sunday and some Saturday’s
  • Most shifts start late afternoon and are structured to be on the road with your first trip by 4:00pm.
  • Compensation is based upon experience after a short skills evaluation. If you are experienced with a great safety record, you will earn at the higher end of the compensation range.
  • $2,500 Sign-On Bonus paid after successful completion of six months of employment
  • 3 ½ weeks of vacation time off in year #1, plus paid holidays and sick time
  • Drivers that operate safely will earn up to a $1000 safety bonus annually
  • Medical, dental and 401K with a company matching contribution
  • We own our equipment and have our own fleet maintenance facility and staff on-site
  • Driver schedules, route organization, process improvement coordinated by local management team
  • Our tractor fleet continues to be upgraded each year – most all with automatic transmissions

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Existing or ability to obtain a DOT medical Card
  • Operational Knowledge of Hours-of-Service rules and regulations
  • Ability to perform safe pre/post trip inspections in accordance with DOT standards
  • NOTE: Starting compensation based upon skills and experience presented
