Job Description
Position Summary
Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods between manufacturing plants, customers, warehouses, and suppliers. This role includes performing vehicle inspections, assisting with loading and unloading, and ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. The driver maintains equipment, follows all safety regulations, reports any issues, and supports general material handling operations as required.
Major Duties
• Drive company truck and deliver products to customers and outside storage facilities.
• Drive the company truck and make pick-ups at suppliers.
• Complete vehicle circle checks and pre/post inspections on every trip.
• Accountable for ensuring the truck and trailers are in good operating condition and meet regulatory requirements.
• Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisors.
• Perform other material handling functions such as loading and unloading trucks. Use of pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Follow all established safety rules and regulations.
• Fuel tractor and trailers as required.
• Responsible for compliance to Health and Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety and Environmental Standards at all times.
• Accept new responsibilities as delegated and required.
Position Qualifications
• High School, Trade School or GED required
• Must have a valid AZ Commercial Driver License and have general knowledge of Provincial and Federal Motor Carrier Regulations
• Air break endorsement.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience driving with an AZ license is required. Must be able to provide a clean driver abstract and work history.
• A ministry-approved medical examination is required to ensure physical fitness.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Lift truck license
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
