To strengthen the team in the field of rail vehicle technology at our client, Siemens Mobility GmbH in 1110 Vienna, we are seeking an experienced and committed Traction Technician (f/m/d) from the earliest start for 38,5h/week. The position offers a diverse range of responsibilities related to the development, design, and support of electric drive systems for innovative rail vehicles.

Your responsibilities

  • Designing & Dimensioning: You'd be independently designing complex traction systems, focusing on high-voltage equipment, converters, motors, gearboxes, brake resistors, transformers, coolers, and auxiliary inverters.
  • Simulations You'll be running simulations to optimize these electric drive systems within the overall vehicle context.
  • Customer & Supplier Interaction: This involves analyzing customer specifications, creating technical responses, drafting supplier specifications, and coordinating with both customers and suppliers. You'll also represent the company in technical discussions.
  • Component Selection: You'll support the selection and evaluation of components, working closely with Procurement and Quality Assurance.
  • Documentation Keeping clear records and preparing reports and presentations in both German and English is also a key part of the role.

Your qualification

  • Several years of professional experience and deep knowledge in rail vehicle traction technology, especially in the areas mentioned above (high voltage, converters, motors, etc.).
  • Practical experience with simulation tools.
  • Experience interpreting customer specifications and developing technical specifications for suppliers.
  • Technical project management experience is a plus.
  • An independent, structured, goal-oriented, and analytical working style with a high degree of initiative.
  • A strong team player.
  • Strong communication skills in German and English.

Your perspective

Depending on the specific qualifications and professional experience, a gross monthly salary of at least EUR 4.341,85 is envisaged (this in any case exceeds the minimum salary under the collective agreement). The final salary agreement will be reached in a personal meeting.
