Could you be the full-time Traction Software Development Engineer in Charleroi we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your embedded software development expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and goal-oriented teammates.
You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and testing software for traction converters, ensuring compliance with industry standards like EN 50657. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Traction Engineering, Validation, Manufacturing, and more), coordinate software design with control teams, and support functional requirement specification writing for traction control systems.
You’ll specifically take care of the design and integration of embedded and simulation software for traction applications, but also support validation activities on test benches and commissioning teams.
We’ll look to you for:
Respecting and applying Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules
Designing application software for traction and auxiliary converters
Collaborating with the Traction Control Engineer to write functional requirement specifications
Writing software requirement specifications and quality documentation
Supporting validation activities and commissioning teams
Participating in design reviews and audits for software certifications
Managing software development planning and workload activities
Ensuring technical interfaces with subcontractors and delivery acceptance
Maintaining configuration management of software projects

Degree in Engineering or a related field
Experience in real-time software design and standard application (minimum 2 years)
Advanced knowledge of embedded software systems
Proficiency in Integrated Development Environments with CEI 61131 Languages (e.g., Control Build, MATLAB/Simulink)
Basic understanding of configuration management principles
Familiarity with requirement traceability and change management tools
Knowledge of control systems and power control electronics
Good understanding of electronics boards (architecture and basic software)
Strong communication skills, team spirit, and analytical capabilities
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
