Your Role

As a Traction Linesperson, you’ll be the backbone of our overhead traction power systems—keeping Queensland’s rail network safe, reliable, and ready for the future. You’ll join our South East Queensland team, working across a vast track network with multiple depot locations available.

Queensland Rail is investing $22 billion in rail infrastructure projects across the network to prepare for the 2032 Olympics, including major initiatives such as Cross River Rail and the Gold Coast Faster Rail Project. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of Queensland’s rail system.

What You’ll Do

· Install, maintain, and repair overhead traction power systems, including overhead lines, conductors, and associated components.

· Plan and execute traction system isolations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols during maintenance and repair activities.

· Perform routine inspections and diagnostic testing of traction power assets to verify compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

· Document and report asset conditions, maintenance actions, and equipment performance metrics in accordance with organizational requirements.

· Collaborate with team members to review processes and implement improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and operational reliability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience with overhead traction power equipment
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage procedures and WHS regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and a 1team-first attitude

Mandatory Requirements

  • Electrical Linesperson License
  • ‘C’ Class Driver Licence
