Job Description

We are a large and fully integrated infrastructure business chartered with a responsibility that is pivotal to the success of Queensland and its people. Our culture is one based around safety and performance.

This opportunity sits within our SEQ Track Renewals team as part of the SEQ Track and Civil Infrastructure business based at the Brisbane Airport depot.

We are looking for self-motivated manual labourers who want to develop their skills into the rail industry.

As a Trackworker you will perform a variety of heavy civil manual labour duties to renew the rail track such as:

  • Removal of old track
  • Preparation for laying of new track
  • Construction of new track
  • Clean up of site

This position is always in the field therefore you must be happy to work in a variety of weather conditions particularly high temperatures. You must be physically fit to walk long distances on a regular basis and lift heavy objects, please consider this before applying.

To be considered you must hold a Drivers Licence.

To be successful you will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team and independently.

HoursPlease consider carefully before applying;

  • The team work throughout the entire Queensland Rail Network at sites in SEQ and across the State, as such there will be a requirement to work away from home roughly 80%
  • When working regionally you can expect a 9 on 5 off roster, usually Monday to the following Tuesday including the weekend - Working away allowance and penalty rates apply.
  • When working around SEQ you are expected to work regular weekends, on average every second weekend - Penalty rates apply.
  • In both SEQ and Regionally, hours are usually 0600hrs to 1600hrs. At times night shift is required based on business needs.

Salary:

  • This is a permanent opportunity with the starting base salary of $66,000/$33/hr plus regular shift penalties and allowances, adding an approximate $15,000.
  • Superannuation up to 12.75%.
  • When working away there is an allowance of $118 per night.
  • Overtime is available but must be approved in line with our fatigue management policy.
