We have a permanent full time vacancy with our track team based at our depot in Yandina.

As a Trackworker you will be responsible for performing heavy manual labour activities which can include replacing railway sleepers, general labouring duties and a variety of other railway track maintenance activities. This position is always in the field so you must be happy to work in a variety of weather conditions particularly hot temperatures.


About our Team:


Reporting to the Track Maintenance Coordinator, you will work with a supportive, engaged and tightknit team. The ability to work within a small team environment is imperative in this role.


About the role:

  • Carry out labouring duties, ensuring track safety is maintained and other duties as directed by the supervisor when required
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Travel and perform outdoor work (including flood repair and other emergency work) throughout the region, often in challenging weather conditions and high temperatures
  • Work a 9-day fortnight which may consist of 7 days and 2 nights. You will be required to work weekends and public holidays depending on when your shifts fall

About you:

  • Hold a current drivers licence
  • Recent experience in a manual handling or physical labouring role
  • A hard-working nature and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • You must have a strong commitment to safety – your safety and the safety of those around you
  • Flexibility to work and travel across the district and work weekends
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team
  • Trackworker or welding experience is advantageous
  • Front-end loader, excavator, skid steer, truck licence, or other licences / tickets are desirable
