Job Description

Track Production Coordinator is based at our Qantas Drive Depot within the Track Renewal Team and manages the allocation and deployment of resources including personnel, vehicles, equipment and inventory to deliver safe, cost effective and timely routine maintenance and construction.

In this opportunity you will, maintain track by the efficient operation and maintenance of plant and equipment associated with the respective Mechanised Maintenance Services.

Additionally you will:

  • Prepare and co-ordinate daily, weekly and monthly work programs to ensure a high level of track & Civil asset availability in a cost efficient and timely manner.
  • Manage effectively the development, implementation and monitoring the requirements of the Network Integrated Management System Business and Divisional Instructions to control and minimise loss to people, property, process and environment within their Section of Network.
  • Manage effectively all resources to meet work priorities, customer and business requirements on behalf of Network.
  • Review work practices, ensure safe working practices, relevant work standards and employment practices (including Equity principles) are implemented and met in accordance with Queensland Rail's policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and implement programs and training for all workgroup staff to ensure high performance levels through succession planning, staff appraisals, development and training to meet customer and business needs.
  • Manage and monitor relevant inventory and costing processes to deliver the most cost effective service.
  • Provide input into the development of yearly budgets and monitor expenditure on behalf of the workgroup/s.
  • Manage the Civil Infrastructure (CI) Competency System within the workgroup/s.

Due to business demands the team work in both SEQ and regional areas. When working around SEQ you are expected to work regular weekends, on average every second weekend, penalty rates apply. When working regionally you can expect a 9 on 5 off roster, working away penalties apply.

We are looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge of track & Civil maintenance renewal and construction standards, systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated resource management and work programming skills.
  • Excel and general computer skills, ideally EAMS experience
  • Strong leadership, people management and negotiation experience.
