Job Summary

This role is responsible for driving operational excellence and service reliability within enterprise backup environments, focusing on Symantec NetBackup, Symantec Backup Exec, and EMC Data Domain platforms. The position ensures high-quality support delivery, continuous process improvement, and strategic problem-solving while mentoring team members and upholding client service level agreements. They empower teams through effective leadership and foster innovation in operations management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead operations management by orchestrating Symantec NetBackup and Backup Exec deployments, ensuring efficient backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes across complex enterprise environments.
2. Utilize EMC Data Domain systems to architect and optimize data deduplication and retention strategies, enhancing backup performance and storage efficiency.
3. Drive continuous service improvement by analyzing backup performance metrics and implementing automation or process enhancements using Symantec and EMC management tools.
4. Mentor and guide support teams in troubleshooting advanced issues related to Symantec backup technologies, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
5. Ensure strict adherence to client SLAs by monitoring backup job status, proactively resolving incidents, and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders on progress and escalations.
6. Evaluate and implement new Symantec and EMC product features or patches, recommending innovative solutions to strengthen data protection and operational resilience.
7. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for backup policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory standards.

Skill Requirements

1. Excellent Knowledge Of Emc Data Domain Systems, Including Integration With Symantec Backup Solutions For Optimized Data Deduplication And Retention Management.
2. Advanced Proficiency In Backup Automation, Reporting, And Monitoring Tools Relevant To Symantec And Emc Environments.
3. Excellent Analytical And ProblemSolving Skills For Diagnosing Complex Backup Failures And System Performance Issues.
4. Strong Capability In Leading Teams, Providing Technical Mentorship, And Driving Operational Improvements In LargeScale Backup Environments.
5. Solid Understanding Of Itil Processes, Incident Management, And Compliance Standards Related To Data Protection.
