Job Description

We are seeking a Mineral Processing & Tailings SME to serve as the Technical Authority across our portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Provide technical authority for mineral processing plants for key minerals involved in the Energy Transition including Lithium, Bromine, Magnesium, Graphite, Rare Earths and base metals including Copper, Gold etc.

What We're Looking For

A recognized industry expert with a proven track record of solving complex engineering challenges, influencing clients, mentoring engineering teams and driving technical excellence across major international projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the focal point / Technical Authority across multiple minerals processing projects.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of process plant development, design and operation, in the minerals and metals industry.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of the hydrometallurgical processing of commodities, such as gold, base metals, uranium, rare earth elements, and battery grade metals.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of process design and engineering of hydrometallurgical unit operations, such as leaching, precipitation, solvent extraction, ion exchange, and electrowinning.
  • Lead technical reviews during Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design.
  • Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
  • Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
  • Ability to communicate process requirements to other members of the study, project or proposal team
  • Support proposals, client workshops and business development.
  • Mentor young engineers and develop technical capability.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in the relevant Engineering (Process / Chemical / Minerals) discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer status is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in Mining and Minerals with Energy Transition Metals and / or base metals or Industrial projects.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.

Technical Expertise:

  • Comminution, flotation, beneficiation, plant optimization, commissioning.
  • Understanding of GISTM, dam safety, water balance, closure planning as part of Tailings and waste management.

Knowledge of Standards:

  • Mining industry standards.
