Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing golf events from start to finish. The role blends logistics, customer service, and event management to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for players, sponsors, and guests.

Here’s a clear breakdown of what the position typically involves:

Core Responsibilities

A golf tournament coordinator handles all the moving parts of an event. This usually includes:

  • Event planning: Scheduling tournament dates, setting formats (scramble, stroke play, etc.), and coordinating with the golf course.
  • Registration management: Handling player sign-ups, payments, and participant lists.
  • Vendor coordination: Working with caterers, sponsors, merchandise providers, and sometimes media or photographers.
  • Sponsorship management: Securing sponsors, organizing sponsor packages, and ensuring sponsor visibility during the event.
  • Logistics: Arranging tee times, carts, scorecards, signage, and tournament materials.
  • On-site execution: Overseeing check-in, managing staff/volunteers, resolving issues, and keeping the event on schedule.
  • Scoring and results: Coordinating score collection, calculating results, and organizing awards ceremonies.
  • Post-event tasks: Sending thank-you notes, reporting results, and evaluating the event’s success.
