
Tourism and Social Services Coordinator – Fixed Term
Waimakariri District Libraries are looking for a highly organised and community-minded Tourism and Social Services Coordinator to work alongside our team to help shape the future of libraries in our diverse and rapidly growing hapori | community.
In this role, you’ll work with our team to design and deliver leading services. This includes managing our isite at Kaiapoi Library, supporting with pamphlets across all libraries and supporting our pakeke community by improving our services inside our library.
Another aspect of your role will be working closely with our hapori daily to deliver responsive, welcoming front-line service. This includes creating bookings at our isite, as well library support from guidance around books and welcoming our hapori to our libraries and community.
To thrive in this role, you will ideally have experience working with hapori from a range of backgrounds, experience in de-escalation, have outstanding customer services skills and have worked in the tourism industry in the past. You will also bring energy, empathy, and communication and organisational skills, a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, inclusion, and a passion for helping others learn and grow are essential.
This role is fixed term for 6 months, 32 hours per week with the hours being Monday – Thursday 8.30-5.00pm.
The location is to be based at Ruataniwha Civic Centre (Kaiapoi Library). Please note that at times the work may take you to our other libraries in Rangiora and Oxford.
