Job Description

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is seeking to hire current undergraduate Case Western Reserve University students to serve as ambassadors to prospective students, families and visitors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead daily campus tours for prospective students and families.
  • Lead tours and/or visit experiences for special populations and groups, including high schools, middle schools, community-based organizations, and other educational partners.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador for CWRU by accurately communicating information about academics, student life, campus resources, opportunities, and the student experience.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging experience for prospective students, families, and visitors.
  • Participate in Open House, Admitted Student, and other large-scale recruitment events.
  • Attend required Tour Guide meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts and required activities.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow Tour Guides, student leaders, and professional Admission staff.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Connect with prospective students through email and other approved communication channels to answer questions and share information about your major, student life, and the CWRU experience.
  • Provide administrative support to the Office of Undergraduate Admission, including front desk coverage, answering phones, office tasks, restocking supplies, and other duties as assigned.
  • Complete special assignments or projects that support the Visit Experience and Office of Undergraduate Admission.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow University policies and procedures.
  • As CWRU student employees, Tour Guides are considered responsible employees under the Office of Title IX while employed by the University.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Staffing our large Open House and Admitted Student events
  • Connecting with prospective students over email to provide more information about your major/ student life
  • Providing administrative support such as staffing the front desk, answering phones, office tasks, restocking supplies, etc.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  • As CWRU student employees, all tour guides are also considered responsible employees through the Office of Title IX while they are employed at the University.

This position starts at $13.44 per hour.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Current undergraduate Case Western Reserve student who is excited about the University and able to speak to the public. The role requires physical activity that includes leading the public around campus outdoors.
  • Must be a full-time Case Western Reserve University undergraduate student and remain in good academic and judicial standing
  • Applicants cannot have an anticipated graduation date before December 2027.
  • Serve as a positive and professional representative of the university
  • Must be able to create an environment of welcome for all guests of the university
  • Tours occur daily. Students must be available to work during actual tour shifts. You do not need to be available every shift, but at least 2-3 each week.
