Job Description

Job Location Irving, TX 75061 Position Type Full Time Travel Percentage None Job Category Design

Surveyor to provide direct detailed survey and layout support to project teams in order to efficiently, successfully, and profitably complete assigned construction projects. Will work closely with CECs VDC Modelers, CAD Detailers, Superintendents and Project Managers / Engineers to complete the work. Surveyor will be expected to be self -sufficient to manage and perform their duties at various project sites. This is a safety sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Layout and data collection of electrical construction utilizing Trimble GPS and Total station assets.
  • Ability to operate a total station instrument and data collector.
  • Work cohesively with our VDC department to verify/manage data, loading data into Layout Tools.
  • Manage individual building schedules as it relates to concrete pour schedules and survey operations.
  • The bulk of the survey work will be shooting points for electrical equipment, boxes, sleeves, floor penetrations, hangers, conduits, duct banks, light fixtures, etc.
  • Possess the ability to read and understand construction drawings, project standards and specifications as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • As-Built verification Back check from field to model/model to field.
  • Perform routine equipment/ tool inspections.
  • Ensure that tools are clean, properly shut down, transported and stored after use.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.



Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • Surveying and or Utility locating experience
  • One year Auto CAD and/or Revit a plus

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Highly Proficient with Trimble, Sokkia, Topcon or other
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Autodesk Revit, Field Layout software
  • Familiar reading / interpreting construction drawing
  • Detail oriented, able to recognize errors quickly
  • Good organizational skills, multi-tasker
  • Self-sufficient, Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of general construction
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures and firm believer in safety
  • General problem-solving ability

  8. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may be required to climb stairs. Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night or weekend shifts, as needed.
