Position Purpose
The Compensation & Benefits Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, communicating, and advising on regional compensation and benefits policies, programs, and strategies. This role ensures internal equity, external competitiveness, and full compliance with laws and labor standards across North America. The position supports JCB’s business strategy by ensuring operational excellence in all annual C&B processes, including the merit cycle and annual bonus programs.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
Impact on Business
• Define, implement, and update compensation and benefits policies and procedures for North America.
• Implement, administer, and guide HR and business partners on all C&B processes and tools.
• Participate in compensation and benefits surveys and analyze results to support organizational decision-making.
• Create and maintain salary structures; prepare benchmark reports as needed.
• Collect and maintain all job descriptions across the region.
• Evaluate and improve internal structure according to IPE methodology.
• Lead design, implementation, and improvement of company benefit plans.
• Develop personnel cost budgets and salary projections.
• Ensure compliance with local labour, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage international assignments, expat compensation proposals, and documentation.
• Monitor macroeconomic indicators and advise leadership on potential impacts.
• Lead the annual salary increase and annual bonus processes, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines.
• Ensure fulfilment of all labour legal requirements related to compensation and benefits.
Innovation & Change
• Provide updates on global and local labour, compensation, and benefits trends.
• Analyze potential impacts of regulatory or market changes on business operations.
• Create new compensation tools and processes where none exist; enhance existing processes.
• Develop strategies to reduce organizational risk related to compensation and benefits.
• Support wellness initiatives to improve employee health and work-life balance.
Communication
• Collaborate daily with HR Business Partners to define local strategies.
• Provide ongoing guidance to regional leadership regarding C&B practices and policy alignment.
• Communicate frequently with HQ HR to ensure global alignment and gather feedback.
• Meet weekly with the VP of HR to improve policies and address strategic needs.
• Provide direct or indirect communication with employees regarding their compensation and benefits packages.
• Maintain relationships with external consultants (e.g., Mercer, Towers Watson).
• Partner with the Benefits Team to launch and monitor annual benefits enrolment.
People Leadership
• Influence HRBPs and business leaders to adopt and apply C&B programs and methodologies.
• Influence senior leadership to ensure understanding and adoption of C&B initiatives.
• Collaborate with HQ C&B teams to design tools and programs that support global strategy.
Key Performance Indicators
• Accuracy of salary structures.
• Up to date IPE evaluations.
• Maintenance of internal equity and external competitiveness.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
• 8–10 years of experience in compensation and benefits.
• Experience working in an international/global company.
• 3–5 years managing international C&B projects or responsibilities, specifically in North America.
• Knowledge and experience with Mercer methodologies, tools, and surveys.
• Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Business or related field.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
• Certified Benefits Professional (CBP).
• Fluent in Spanish.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Microsoft Project.

Job Conditions
• Both office environment and occasionally manufacturing/factory environment.
• Subject to noise and temperature changes.
