Total Rewards Manager – Assistant Director

Role Purpose

The Total Rewards Assistant Director is accountable for leading and managing the Total Rewards strategy and execution for the local market (Argentina), ensuring external competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with regional and global frameworks.
This role serves as the primary Total Rewards lead for the location, acting as a strategic partner to the business, managing key stakeholders, and leading the local Total Rewards team.

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards & Compensation

  • Lead the end-to-end Total Rewards lifecycle for the location, including compensation benchmarking, budgeting, salary review processes, bonus cycles, and annual increases.
  • Design, review, and recommend competitive fixed and variable pay structures aligned with business strategy, market practices, and global policies.
  • Lead internal equity and external competitiveness analyses, providing data-driven salary proposals and managing salary offers.
  • Identify, select, and participate in compensation and benefits surveys; conduct custom market studies with key industry contacts as required.
  • Monitor market trends and develop market intelligence insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform ad-hoc analytics related to costing, trend analysis, and program effectiveness.
  • Oversee coordination and governance of benefits, payroll-related changes, and updates in employment conditions.

Location Lead

  • Act as the Total Rewards point of contact and leader for the location, representing local interests in regional and global forums.
  • Translate and adapt global Total Rewards strategies to the local context, ensuring compliance with local regulations and cultural relevance.
  • Provide a holistic view of the impact of Total Rewards decisions on budget, people, processes, and technology at the location level.
  • Lead and support change management initiatives related to Total Rewards, ensuring clear and effective communication to employees.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and regional/global Total Rewards teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business on compensation and benefits-related topics, providing consultative guidance.
  • Influence decision-making through clear communication, robust data analysis, and business-oriented recommendations.
  • Represent the organization externally by leveraging professional networks and market connections to enhance market intelligence.

People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the local Total Rewards team.
  • Set clear objectives, manage performance, and support professional development and career growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Ensure team capacity and capabilities are aligned with current and future business needs.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset with a results-oriented approach.
  • Solid technical expertise in Total Rewards and Compensation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • High level of autonomy, proactivity, and ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Strong cross-cultural awareness and experience working in global environments.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in HR roles, with a strong focus on Total Rewards.
  • Previous experience leading teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data-driven reporting tools.
