Topping & Icing Specialist (Cake Decorator & Bakery Trainer)

Affinity Group Retail is seeking a Topping & Icing Specialist to support one of the industry's leading bakery brands throughout the Carolinas. This unique role combines hands-on bakery expertise, customer training, merchandising support, and sales partnership to help retail bakery teams elevate their cake and dessert programs.

What You'll Do
As a Topping & Icing Specialist, you will serve as a bakery subject matter expert, helping retail bakery teams maximize product quality, sales, and profitability.
Responsibilities include:

• Conduct hands-on training for bakery associates on decorating techniques, bakery procedures, and product applications
• Demonstrate creative uses of icings, toppings, desserts, and specialty bakery products
• Develop customized cake and dessert solutions for customer accounts
• Partner with sales teams to support product launches, promotions, and customer presentations
• Assist customers with merchandising strategies that drive bakery sales
• Identify new opportunities to grow bakery and dessert programs
• Support special events, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions
• Communicate marketplace trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback
• Build strong relationships with bakery managers, store teams, and key decision makers
• Maintain activity reporting and provide recommendations to support business growth

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of hands-on bakery, cake decorating, or foodservice/retail experience
• Experience training others or conducting demonstrations preferred
• Strong understanding of in-store bakery operations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Self-starter who enjoys working independently and managing multiple priorities
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and mobile technology for reporting and communication
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory

Hourly rate: $24-$35 per hour
