JOB TITLE

Tools Operations Engineer

Lexmark (A Subsidiary of Xerox Corporation) is expanding, and we are looking to bring on additional Systems Administrators/Engineers in our operations team.This team is responsible for the daily operational support for our data centers and our cloud infrastructure that is primarily Azure but also includes AWS Cloud Infrastructure.

This role combines Linux administration, Ansible automation, ScienceLogic monitoring, and ManageEngine Patch Manager to deliver secure, compliant, and SLA-driven infrastructure operations.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced with strong Tools Administration expertise to design, automate, and manage enterprise monitoring and infrastructure platforms using:

  • Ansible (Automation)
  • ScienceLogic Skylar One (Observability)
  • ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus (Patch & Compliance)
  • Linux Administration (Core foundation)

The role ensures high availability, SLA compliance, system reliability, and operational efficiency through automation and proactive monitoring.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and supporting our internal teams across multiple geographical locations.

The candidate should be very experienced in supporting Linux servers in a large environment. They will need a strong knowledge of networking and integration of multiple systems in a complex environment that spans on prem and cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with deploying 3rd party software packages as part of a system deployment.

Strong emphasis on automation skills is a major plus.Automation platforms are Ansible, PowerShell, and BASH.Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipeline builds desired.

Must be able to work independently and collaborate with other stakeholders.Strong communication, both written and verbal, is required.Experience working internationally is a plus.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

1.Automation Engineering (Ansible)

· Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows

· Automate:

o Server provisioning

o Configuration management

o Patch management

· Manage Ansible Tower / AWX / AAP

· Integrate automation with Linux environments and monitoring tools

  1. Patch Management (ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus)
  2. Manage patch lifecycle using ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus
  3. Perform:
  4. Patch scanning & vulnerability detection
  5. Patch testing, approval, and deployment
  6. Patch rollback & compliance tracking
  7. Automate patching across:
  8. Linux, Windows, Solaris
  9. Ensure:
  10. Compliance reporting and audits
  11. Security vulnerability remediation

3.Monitoring & Observability (ScienceLogic Skylar One)

· Configure SKYLAR ONE collectors, dashboards, and monitoring policies

· Implement:

o Event correlation

o Root cause analysis

o AIOps-based alerting

· Monitor infrastructure, applications, and cloud services

4.Incident & Operations

· Configure alerts, escalation policies, and on-call processes

· Perform proactive monitoring and remediation

· Automate incident resolution using Ansible + patching workflows

  1. Communication:
  2. Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  3. Clearly communicate technical concepts and information to non-technical individuals.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and implement solutions.
  5. Provide timely and detailed updates on project progress, status, and escalations.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise in Ansible (Playbooks, Roles, Tower/AWX) Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) for task automation.
  • Hands-on with ScienceLogic Skylar One & ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus.
  • Strong Linux Administration (5+ years) and Linux distributions (such as CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
  • Dev/Ops and pipeline building and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, firewall configurations, and security best practices.
  • Operational Knowledge in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.
  • Cloud experience with platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders across different geographical locations

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD

· 5 to 7 years of experience in Automation + Monitoring + Patch Management with Linux server administration
