Job Description
Preform tool room/CTK tasks IAW AFI 21-101, AFI 21-101 AFGSCSUP Chapter 8 and PWS requirements. Responsible for tools, HAZMAT, and consumable asset accountability and control. Account for all tools, test equipment at the beginning and end of each shift. Shift inventory must be documented by both outgoing and incoming tool room attendants.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. Coordinates activities with the Site Quality Supervisor.
- Utilize the AF enterprise Tool Accountability System, (TCMax), to check out and check in all tools, test equipment and HAZ items.
- Perform electronic back up of TCMax at least once a month.
- Inspect tools and equipment for serviceability and functionality.
- Performs basic maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs of tools and equipment assigned to work center IAW TO 32-1-101.
- Manage eTools IAW TO 00-5-1. Track spare, lost, damaged and/or removed tools.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all spare tools.
- Monitors TMDE/PMEL, ensure TMDE calibration requirements for owning work center assets are met.
- Ensures tools are properly labeled and stored in designated locations.
- Maintains a clean and organized tool room.
- Supports production and maintenance teams by ensuring required tools are available.
- Store, transport, and disposes of hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure HAZMAT containers are in good condition, properly labeled, closed, secured, and segregated from incompatible materials.
- Tracks and manages HAZMAT chemicals, including common chemical usage, shelf life, and on-hand stock to reduce waste and cost.
- Adheres to strict protocols and guidelines for handling and storing hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Updates Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders for approved chemicals.
- Performs regular assessments for hazardous conditions and ensures compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Participate in hazardous waste handler and spill response training.
- Support emergency response plans and be familiar with resources available to control/mitigate hazardous material incidents.
- Assists in identifying, monitoring, and sampling hazardous materials, and directing decontamination procedures if necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
- Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- CLIMBING - Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized (onto or off of helicopter)
- HANDLING - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand (required for numerous tasks.)
- EXPOSURE TO WEATHER - Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather (while conducting exterior ramp operations)
- NOISE - Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss (while conducting exterior ramp operations)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to move about both inside aircraft hangar and outside on aircraft ramp within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education / Certifications:
- Must have a High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience:
- Program experience with tool control, Hazmat, Haz waste, TMDE/PMEL, and/or equipment accounts.
- Working knowledge of DAFI21-101 Tool and Equipment Management or equivalent.
The current SCA rate of pay for this position is $28/hr. and is non-negotiable.
