Job Description

Manage tooling strategies, storage, inventory, tool room operations, and tooling personnel to provide effective and efficient tooling support to manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct Wintool implementation project to ensure that the transition is smooth and works well with applications related to manufacturing.
  • Oversee and develop tooling strategies in terms of purchasing, and inventory management that align with production needs.
  • Identify and present cost saving opportunities within tooling and present potential outcomes affecting production.
  • Review new tooling technology opportunities, and consider the implementation cost savings.
  • Coordinate with plant managers and programmers to direct tooling supplier testing.
  • Hold weekly meetings to IDS issues and concerns related to tooling with direct reports

  • Lead, Manage, and hold team members Accountable
  • Direct Wintool Implementation
  • Provide direction and oversight for tooling processes and workflows
  • Work as a team with Engineering and Production to determine which tools will be inventoried and used at Acutec.

Education & Experience Requirements:

A High School diploma or general education degree is required, and at least 5 years of tooling / manufacturing related experience. Over 5 years of leadership and management in a technical role may also be considered in lieu of direct tooling / machining experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

The employee must possess the leadership qualities necessary to develop, modify, and align teams in multiple facilities to both the goals of the company and the needs of manufacturing.

The employee must understand basic principles of machining, project and inventory management, supply chain, and procurement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include supervision, training and assisting employees.
