Job Description

Join us as a Tooling Engineer

  • This is an intellectually challenging role, where you’ll be able to hone your expertise in Enterprise Architecture (EA) tooling as you design, maintain, and optimize our platforms

  • You’ll make sure your team has the right tools and support to model the enterprise landscape, assess strategic decisions, manage technology risk, and keep IT assets and relationships up to date

  • If you have extensive tooling configuration and integration knowledge and you are looking to work with diverse stakeholders, this role is an exciting opportunity for you

  • We're offering this role at vice president level

What you'll do

As a Tooling Engineer, you’ll explore how our platforms power our business, applications, data and infrastructure, and how those pieces fit together. You’ll take ownership of our EA platforms as the primary administrator, managing upgrades, patching, integrations between the EA tool and other core IT systems, and overall performance.

You’ll be in charge of setting and upholding strong data governance standards that keep our architectural repository accurate, complete, and consistently dependable. This role involves working closely with principal engineers, domain architects and other key stakeholders to map how our platforms operate and drive business outcomes

You’ll also play a pivotal role in:

  • Shaping application, technology component, business capability and project lifecycles to keep EA insights aligned with our business strategy

  • Developing and maintaining scripts, APIs or integrations for automation and data quality checks to help streamline workflows and strengthen data accuracy

  • Configuring the views, dashboards, reports and visualisations that give stakeholders the insights they need

  • Providing expert support, troubleshooting, and training to help new and existing users understand our tools, follow data standards, and observe best practices

The skills you'll need

In this role, you’ll handle detailed requirements analysis, capturing and validating needs across both business and technical systems. This position requires you to maintain high levels of attention to detail and analytical skills. You’ll pair this with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We’ll look to you to harness programming languages to solve complex problems and bring clarity and elegant solutions to our platforms’ most complex challenges. The ability to adapt the way you work to match our platforms’ evolving direction and the demands of each project are essential to our forward-looking team culture, as well.

You’re expected to have:

  • Enterprise Architecture Tool in BizzDesign, ArchiMate, FinOS Waltz, or strong knowledge of architecture modelling, frameworks, and standards
  • Proficient in software development and system integration, with experience designing interfaces between architecture tools and enterprise systems (CMDB, ITSM, ERP). Skilled in API development, automation, and middleware solutions
  • Experienced in automating architecture and design workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and traceability, with the ability to develop custom extensions, plugins, and automation solutions within architecture tooling environments
  • Strong understanding of architecture data models and artefacts, with expertise in translating complex data structures into actionable insights and integrating diverse data sources.
  • Knowledge of AI, agentic systems, and machine learning to enhance architecture processes, automate pattern recognition, and improve decision-making within architecture tooling ecosystems
