Avery Dennison is a global leader in pressure-sensitive adhesives and materials, labels, tags, retail systems and specialty chemicals. The Fastener Solutions Division of Avery Dennison is a worldwide manufacturer of plastic fastening systems used in the automotive, apparel, retail, industrial and packaging industries. Our three-shift injection molding and extrusion operation is located in Fitchburg, MA. The Fastener Solutions Division is ISO/TS 16949 certified.

The Toolroom Engineer is Responsible for managing injection mold projects with external vendors and supports the internal tool shop through quoting, mold design, construction, debugging, process development, and qualification to meet customer and production requirements.

Requisitos

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

5+ years of experience in injection mold maintenance, hot runner systems, and corrective maintenance.

Knowledge and experience in preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of injection molds.

Extensive knowledge of injection mold components, hot runner parts, valve gates, cores, etc.

Knowledge of injection mold improvements and engineering changes.

Collaborate with the engineering team (new projects) to identify mold design issues prior to launch during the design review phase.

Improve and optimize the efficiency and quality of parts across all mold manufacturing operations

Collaborate with team members by soliciting their input, developing actionable plans, and ensuring processes are well-defined, effectively communicated, and accurately documented.

Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).

Over 5 years of experience in high-volume plastic production environments, ideally with injection molding experience.

Knowledge of ISO 9000 and TS16949 compliance standards, with experience in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

Ability to set processing parameters and document standard operating procedures.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proven track record of participating in and fostering a collaborative work environment to solve problems and improve product and process quality.

Ability to manage projects while adhering to tooling shop budgets.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in PC use, and familiar with industry-specific software applications.
