Job Description

Objective

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for development, design, build and maintenance schedules for HPDC tooling. Including CAD, simulation analysis, and advanced troubleshooting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure dies are efficient, high-quality and meet production targets. Responsible for budgets, timelines, PPAP and manufacturing acceptance activities.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze tooling downtime and dimensional data to design solutions for improved uptime and repeatability.
• Work with cross functional teams to solve complex problems. Design innovative solutions to improve filling, thermal balance, venting, cost and die life.
• Create, modify and maintain revision control of tool CAD, prints and spare parts.
• Manage quoting, procuring, costs, tool build, cavity replacement and other die components. Lead design review activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Associates degree required; Journeyman toolmaker experience highly desirable.
• 3-5 years’ relevant experience preferred
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be proficient in CAD.
• Must have die design experience.
• Experience with flow simulation software is desirable but not required.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must have a strong attention to detail.
