Job Description

  • Supervise, guide, motivate, and evaluate the performance of tool and die makers, machinists, and qualified apprentices.
  • Interpret complex design drawings and engineering sketches to determine the precise manufacturing procedures for dies or molds.
  • Supervise the safe preparation and operation of workshop machinery, including manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinding machines, saws, and EDM equipment.
  • Monitor and record production, repair, and time‑control data—either manually or via computer systems—on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Keep the tool shop area organized, free of debris, and in compliance with 5S manufacturing standards.

Education

  • This position requires, at minimum, an engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from management teams, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as fundamentals of plane and spatial geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage various concrete variables in situations where standardization is limited.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions presented in writing, orally, through diagrams, or in schedules.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance and tool shop operations.
